All right, kiddos. I finished my freelance more or less on time (FUCK YEAH), my bags are mostly packed, I had a psuedo-Thanksgivingy dinner last night (mmmm, turkey melt), and I'm off to Chicago for Whoish shenanigans! Behave while I'm gone.

I’ve been stupidly busy, hence the lack of updates. Tomorrow is Thanksgiving in the US, and instead of traditional turkey, potatoes and pecan pie, I’m venturing off once again to Chicago for more fannish shenanigans. A part of me is really bummed out about not doing Thanksgiving again, especially how last year’s with ![[info]](http://l-stat.livejournal.com/img/userinfo.gif) macbeemer & Company was quite awesome. Oh well.
I was hitting a low point earlier this week with constant sitting on the computer and doing nothing but animating, so Jeanne and Niki kidnapped me to head out to an old skool ice cream parlor in Forest Hills. Sooooooo good. We also ducked into a chocolate shop and picked up some turkey-shaped chocolate lollipops. The area around there is SO NICE. But it was all I needed to feel motivated.
I stayed up ridiculously late to finish two Sekrit Projects, which I’m about to run out and take care of before wrapping up my final animation file before the “break”. See? Isn’t my life so exciting that it needs to be documented? -___-
I’m looking forward to tomorrow because I’LL BE SEEING SO MUCH OF MY FLIST THERE. And I’ll be on two more panels and talking about DRAWING STUFF.

I'm watching Miss Congeniality as I finish screencapping Moulin Rouge.
I always forget how awesome this movie is. William Shatner and Michael Caine FTW.
As for the Moulin Rouge screencaps, if anyone needs ANY Diamond Dogs reference, talk to me, baby. I've gotten all the dancers, and am slowly working on multiple crops of all the group screencaps (297 in all) so that I can cross-reference the dancers. I've been working on this project for a few days now, hoping it would help me narrow my decision down for which dress to make first. (It hasn't. I'm now up to 9, when I used to be at 3.) Total screencaps is somewhere in the neighborhood of 450.
DIES.
I need to pack for NC.

So. Long time no fandom post. Instead of doing problem sets/studying surface integrals pulled an all-nighter making a Dean/Cas vid to Muse's "Sing for Absolution." Are my youtube skills failing me or are there ZERO Absolution/SPN vids? Unacceptable, unacceptable...

I take back what I said about boys in my last entry. Well, not all of it.
Just scored a Saturday date with a 6'6" cyclist who sounded really yummy on the phone. EXCELLENT.
And just so this post isn't all about boys, here, have some photos of Nine.

I also need to post this facebook conversation I had with my brother the other day, because it made me laugh. ...my brother and I are twisted. Just know that he holds the rank of "Expert Marksman" in both pistol and rifle categories. ...apparently that's hard to do? Whatever.

Andrew: Just the gays.

Barf. I'm back in "boys suck" mode. To combat such irritating feelings, I'm going at corsets hardcore. I was doing some swatching today, and Rosen & Chadick had some gorgeous pastel cotton brocades. They're my favorite store, because they actually recognize me when I come in, even though I might visit NY Elegant more frequently. Anyway, I know I've said it before, but if you're fabric shopping in NYC, don't miss Rosen & Chadick..
But anyway, corsets! I've got so many ideas rolling around in here. I've been sketching all day. For some reason, I'm on a real Harley Quinn kick, so I think she's going to be first.
And on a different note, I love Jon Stewart. So. Fucking. Much.

If you saw Wednesday night's episode, you know why. Intelligent funny men are so ridiculously hot.
Maybe if I didn't have a height requirement, I could find my own. Jon's the one exception to my 6' or taller rule. That being said, why are the only guys who go out of their way to message me on okcupid 5'10" or shorter? WHY? Just once, I'd love to get a message from a 6'2" good-looking geek who recognizes my Silk Spectre costume. (....whatever do you mean, "Why is that your okcupid picture?") Really - shouldn't New York be crawling with them? Why am I only attractive to the short, socially retarded, and Dominican?
Hot diggity, I can't wait to get back to Asheville on Monday. hopelarson, we'll need to go find ourselves a damn fine wine bar. I need a drink that costs less than $12.

I rewatched Waters of Mars when lovely elrina753 came over to watch.

It also doesn’t help that we watched Star Trek right afterwards and elrina753 filled my head with far too many doodle bunnies, so all I want to do right now is draw fanart. I ended up not doing any animation yesterday because I just wasn’t feeling it, so now, I’ve got to push push push till Thanksgiving where I’ll get to take another break.*
* I say “break” because going to a con isn’t the same as taking a break. It’s not very relaxing! And I have so much stuff to do beforehand BESIDES working my ass off.
